When staying at Thornycroft Bed & Breakfast we can provide you with some guidance on some of the attractions. Christchurch
and the Canterbury region is famous for its natural beauty and for the wealth of activities that are available.
Since the recent earthquake, Christchurch known as "The Garden City", has changed considerably. The inner CDB is being redesigned and reconstructed. It will still be complimented by tree-lined avenues, the meandering Avon River, and lovely parks and gardens.
The once thriving artistic community which supported cafés, restaurants, bars, theatre, art galleries, music and much more is very slowly beginning to re-emerge. Combine this with adjacent hills, mountains and beaches, ski fields an easy drive away, and Christchurch is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the world.
Among some of Christchurch’s ‘must sees’ are Hagley Park and the Botanical Gardens, the International Antarctic Centre, Orana Park (New Zealand’s largest wildlife reserve), Air Force World and the Christchurch Casino.
Christchurch is proud to offer more golf courses within its city limits than any other city in New Zealand.
So after a gourmet breakfast at Thornycroft Bed & Breakfast, there is plenty for you to see and do around Christchurch. |
